EURIDICE will present its results at the 13th and 14th of October with several activities like exploitation workshop, final event, demonstration, training and a booth.

The EURIDICE project was present on the 8th European ITS Congress in Lyon, France. The congress focuses on new achievements and research in the field of Intelligent Transport Systems, from Vehicle to Vehicle communication, to Public Transport Information Systems, to Intelligent Freight logistics. EURIDICE was represented with an Interactive Poster Session describing the structure and usage of the EURIDICE Context Model. The session was well attended and the audience showed a high interest, especially at the poster itself accompanied by rich discussions.

A representative group of the consortia developing the projects EURIDICE and L4LIFE took active part to the Transport Logistics 2011 fair in the magnificent frame of the Neue Messe in Munich, from the 10th to the 13th of May. The group, composed by M. Devescovi (Insiel S.p.A.), P. Lupieri (Insiel S.p.A.), J. Baalsrud Hauge (BIBA) and F. Habekuß (FHV), was hosted at the stand of Insiel SpA, coordinator of both projects, within the booth of the Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia, side by side with the stand of SDAG S.p.A., the partner of the “Intelligent routing through cargo-infrastructure cooperation” pilot of the EURIDICE project.

Insiel’s stand was a hot spot for the customers of the fair to collect information, assist at demonstrative movies and even receive training sessions about the results, the technological background and the concrete applications of the projects. A large number of partners, both enterprises and projects, of the EURIDICE and L4LIFE consortia were participating either with an own stand at the fair: BLG Logistics, e-Freight, Integrity, SeaRail, Oracle, Logica, and Deutsche Post DHL, whose pavillion gave large room to sponsor the GoGreen program, supporting an environment-friendly transport logistics. All these stands were distributing, beside their own material, flyers and information related to the EURIDICE and L4LIFE projects and to the ECITL conference.

Only sad aspect of the fair was, the truck of Gebrueder Weiss, partner of the EURIDICE project, was stolen. Not the actual one, the mini-truck proudly exposed at the booth. But as anybody knows something bad always happens... ;)

Munich, May 12 2011 - For one of the major exploitation milestones in the EURIDICE project, the members of the EURIDICE Consortium met for an all day workshop on “BUSINESS MODELS FOR INTELLIGENT CARGO” at the premises of Vodafone R&D Germany in Munich.

In order to verify the possibilities for long term industry impact of the EURIDICE solution platform, key features and thoughts on the EURIDICE Technology Platform, Usability and a so called Eco-System for Spin-Off Services were shared with a group of 22 industry experts , themselves being organized within a Special Interest Group for m2m Communication established by the munich network within its mobile@all® initiative.

Whereas this workshop has had its main focus on the supply side of the market, a follow up workshop to take place in Thessaloniki, Greece in October 2011will put more emphasis on the demand side in order to cover further aspects especially in regards to the project’s long term strategy and successful exploitation of EURIDICE results in the market.

The industry group representatives have been very positive about the achievements of EURIDICE, which have been presented to them in a joint afternoon session with in total more than 40 participants.
